We are pleased to announce the 3rd Italian Meeting on Raman Spectroscopy and
Non-Linear Optical Effects (GISR2014), which will be held in the historical central building of Parma University from 9 to 11 June 2014.

The Meeting has been organized biannually since 1986 by the National Discussion Group on Raman Spectroscopy and Nonlinear Optical Effects, and is the third in the new series since the National Group naturally evolved into the corresponding Interdivisional Group of the Italian Chemical Society (GISR-SCI).

The topics to be discussed during GISR2014 will cover all the different aspects of Raman spectroscopy and of the other non-linear optical effects, from theoretical modelling to the study of condensed phases, functional materials, surfaces and interfaces, with applications in biology, pharmaceutical sciences and materials for the conservation of cultural heritage and so on.

GISR2014 will provide experts a forum for presenting recent research advancements, discussions and knowledge exchange, offering the young scientists the opportunity to enter into the field of these continuously evolving spectroscopic techniques by presenting the results of their own research in a collaborative and friendly atmosphere.

GISR2014 will host three invited plenary lectures, accompanied by short oral contributions selected from the presented abstracts, and one open poster session. The Meeting language will be English.
